Black Russian
Of all the tomatoes I've grown this year, these are the ones I held least hope for.
However, they may be few in number, but they're huge in size! Similar to a beef tomato.
I've been hoping at least one would ripen before we go away, as I'm dying to try one; this one maybe needs a day or two more to ripen then it's ready for eating.
As the name suggests, this variety turn a purpley-black colour when ripe, rather than your run of the mill red.
Mama A is on greenhouse duty while we are away and I've told her to take any ripe tomatoes home especially since the ones she's been growing haven't amounted to much at all!, which seems only fair.
Another day over for work; it was a chilled day for a change. Or maybe I'm just past caring in holiday mode?!
