I Could Crush a Feather

Except he can't - not ever.
The feather is safe
between wooden claws
which will never close.

Put your arms out sideways as straight and as far as they will go.
That's the size of this carving by Seaham sculptor David Gross. Not sure why it's kept behind bars in one of the old lime kilns down at the harbour. I think it deserves a more prominent position in the marina.

NB - David has contacted me since I put this image on facebook to say although lots of his work is lying around at the marina, this partcular piece is, he thinks, by a chain saw sculptor called Tommy Craggs.
