Sleepover
After their morning walk, JR came in very excited. They had met another new schnauzer in the neighbourhood. There's a swarm of them suddenly! She's fully grown, but half his size. Pretzel was her name, and I hope they can have a play together soon.
A morning sitting in the sun (this is getting to be a habit - the sunshine, I mean, not the sitting around...) with Archie, who did really well with his 'no barking' at passers by. Until, that is, a cool black cat came dandering along. We could see it through the hedge, bold as brass, then it stood and gazed in the gate at us. Then it merely strolled off as Archie went crazy barking his head off! I didn't count this as a relapse in his good behaviour. It was completely provoked.
JR went shopping, then took Archie up the hill while I packed Archie's overnight bag. Yes, he's off to spend the night with a new dog sitter. This place looks ideal! They have a big garden, a resident spaniel, and love going walks to the Hermitage of Braid. If he's a good boy, we hope to use her again. We do have friends who'd take him, and we will use them, but a regular sitter is a must. This new one is still in our parking permit area. We had a good one, but she was on the other side of town. Then she inconveniently moved to Dunbar.
An evening without Archie does not feel right, so we're going out. We'll walk across the Links to a place we've been meaning to try out all summer - TriBeCa.
Hope he's behaving himself. Here he's asking if I've packed his favourite toys. Yes, Archie, but only a couple of them.
