Festival City
Ednburgh and those who live there still seem able to adapt to the ever increasing size of the festivals that dominate the city in August. .
They culminate these days in a massive fireworks concert in Princes St Gardens which is visible from all over the city.
Tonight , leaving a restaurant in Elm Row , I realised the display was just starting.
I saw the first explosions as I looked up from Picardy Place where a small crowd had gathered to watch it , even though the bulk of the old St James Centre ( now slowly being demolished ) took up half the skyline.
