Soft And Delicate

A lovely, soft Gold Torch cactus flower, caught between the clouds and the sun...

It always amazes me that tough prickly cacti produce the most colorful and delicate of flowers. Of course, despite the fact that they generally only bloom for one day, they are also not attractive to critters which are frequent garden chompers, like rabbits and javalinas.

I guess the cactus needles have something to do with that.
