Recycling spectacles for use in countries where people are being encouraged to look after their eyesight. I collect these from the charity shop where I am a volunteer and take them to local opticians. If you should have old glasses lurking at the back of drawers they will be gladly accepted, doesn't matter if the lens is loose. The cases are not required.
