In the clouds

Seriously turning into my grandparents as we had a 'run out' today! First we went over to the village where I used to live for the annual Flower Festival , with its theme "Colourful Songs", which was lovely although some were more creative than others and I preferred the ones that didn't rely too heavily on twee props. We came home the long way via Thaxted and had lunch in the pub with a French twist so I had Scallops au gratin et frites ( mmmm) . Then we walked up to the windmill and ascended to the top. Thought it looked magnificent with the clouds behind. We also had fun plane spotting using the app Flightradar as Thaxted church is a beacon for incoming Stansted flights.
