Carnival

If it is Bank Holiday Monday, then its Carnival. The weather was hot, and the costumes unbelievably brilliant again this year. I've gone for this shot, as for me, it epitomises the atmosphere, the riot of visuals combined with an incredible energy and fun. I took this holding the camera up above my head to get it over the crowd, as this was later on, when I had moved about half a mile to see the parade.  But I took some different kinds of shots in the arena this time, so will try to upload a couple of extras. One is the type I would normally take - enigmatic face with costume, the other, the blue one, is a more pensive, as the participants are concentrating before the event.
