Kingfisher Success

I've been on a mission for weeks to get a better photograph of the local kingfishers. They are very quick and numerous, and announce their arrival with an obvious call. But as much as I see them fly by, I've not been very successful at catching them with my camera. But today was different, as a kingfisher lit in a tree close by, and then flew over to the dock and sat on the railing.....patiently waiting for me to take numerous photos.

I was amazed to see how rough they look, although there was a breeze which seemed to ruffle their feathers.
