Down by the canal

On a bank holiday Sunday when so many people are dashing around visiting festivals and events, we opted for a pleasant stroll along the Ripon canal.
As usual for bank holiday outings, it started to rain as soon as we left the car, but did clear up later on.
I snapped this view of one of the old brick bridges whilst sitting on the bank enjoying the peace and quiet.
It has certainly stood the test of time and bears quite a few marks and scars where passing boats have taken chunks out of it.
