Busy afternoon on the river

After five days of temperatures in the mid 30sC, this morning dawned somewhat cloudy and feeling pleasantly cool. By midday the sun had come back out, but the temperature was noticeably cooler than during the week and there was a good breeze. We went our separate ways in the afternoon, Roger opting for a bike ride, while I chose to walk down to the river and along to Héricy and back. It was a popular place this afternoon, lots of boating activity, and many people sitting on the banks, enjoying picnics, some people even swimming in the river. When I got back home we had a cup of tea, then Roger suggested taking our chairs and our Kindles down to the river and enjoying a pre-dinner glass of chilled sparkling wine by the water, while we read and watched the activity on the river, which was most enjoyable.
