Big Beach Busk

No end of possible pictures today. A glorious day for the BBB7 - Big Beach Busk 7 (having started in 2010). Porty Prom was once more full of buskers - including L (see extras). Later on there was the sandcastle competition and the beach bottle rocket competition (another extra). The place was absolutely buzzing and so it seems fitting that my blip for the day should feature the man that started it all off. P, on right with baseball cap and scooter, is the guy that got the Beach Busk off the ground and is still doing what little organising there is in the event. Mostly it involves a bit of publicity, drawing chalk 'performing circles' on the Prom before the buskers arrive and scooting around on the day distributing prized BBB badges, and plectrums, to the performers. He'd run out of both yesterday, despite having three hundred badges made. Community life in action. Not waiting for something to be delivered top-down but just making it happen by encouraging people to get involved. Next weekend it's the turn of Art Walk Porty, also started by a single local individual but now taking off as more people get involved. This is why I love Porty!
