Cormorant Conversation
The tide was high this morning on the river. I heard the sound an outboard motor and walked out to the cemetery bluff hoping to see a local pulling lobster traps close up on the tidal river. The outboard was actually headed towards Round Island and the Machias Bay towards Cutler. So, there were no chances for lobster trap shots, but as I looked down at the river I caught these cormorants going about their morning business. As soon as they heard me they began taking off, seemingly doubling themselves with their reflections on the water.
For the Record,
This day came in with blue skies and increasing clouds and dampness.
