Old Aroona Gumtree

What a magic evening for photography! Venus and Saturn were setting in the western sky, and the rest of the sky was star-filled. I'd enjoyed looking at the shape of this old gumtree (eucalyptus) near the ruins of the Aroona homestead, so thought I'd try it out against the starry sky. The Heysin Range is in the distance, full of fascinating layered red rock, which looked wonderful in the early sun this morning.

We're enjoying a few days in the Flinders Range, before starting the drive back to Canberra.
