Yet another supermarket!

Popped down to Homebase this afternoon to buy a chisel and in passing thought that this growing monstrosity on Soroba Road would make a good Blip. We already had a Lidl, Aldi, Tesco, Co-op and FarmFoods in Oban, but Lidl demolished the Co-op and are building another huge supermarket. At least Tesco makes some effort to look reasonable and at least the Co-op was end on to the road, but this is just a huge, dead wall on the street.

I wonder who will buy up the old Lidl - maybe the Co-op! Mind you, we haven't got a Sainsbury's, a Morrison's or a Waitrose, though Oban's probably not posh enough for the latter! While I'm on the subject, I note that whereas most supermarkets have a check-out marked '10 items or less', Waitrose more correctly says '10 items or fewer'! Well done Waitrose!
