World's End

Edinburgh at Festival time - so many people here that the rest of the world must be quite empty...

I'm staying in student accommodation, along with lots of overseas military bands practising for the tattoo. I think about the student who will be living in this room after the summer, and all those who have occupied it in the past. Conjuring up a strange mixture of memories from my university days - excitement and dread in equal measure. 

No dread tonight, however, only excitement. I'm off to meet Luke tomorrow in New York. A new adventure :-)
