Oslo Sentralstasjon

On the way back from Porsgrunn to Halden, 40 min wait, so had some time to find an interesting blip. Really grey day, but the contrasting shapes of the high rise buildings lining the station provided an interesting view.

The current station only became active in 1980, previously there had been two station, one for passenger, one for freight, but this didn't work very well. Committee after committee was formed, the job of which was to decide the best plan for managing the expanding rail network, of course (as is often the case when committees are in charge) nothing much happened until the 1970s when the system was at breaking point.
