Dazzle Ship

Turner Prize nominee Ciara Phillips has overseen the transformation of a former lighthouse service ship into one of the nation’s biggest works of arts.  It pays tribute to the untold contribution of women to the First World War and echo the striking look of the battle-ready ships which were specially designed to foil the enemy.

'Dazzle Ships' were designed to make it difficult for enemy forces to judge their range, speed and direction of travel.
