Dazzle Ship, Leith Docks

This is the Dazzle Ship at Leith Docks. It commemorates the World War 1 "Dazzle Ships" which were painted with clashing patterns to supposedly confuse U-Boats. On the information board next to the ship is a contemporary photo showing dazzle ships in Leith Docks in 1917. 
The artist has chosen these colours to reflect the role women played in World War 1. 
Personally the colours make me think that Bertie Basset is the Captain of the Ship. Well, it takes all sorts...
