"And in the handiwork of their craft is their prayer"
We popped in to see the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition in Chelmsford Cathedral. Little did we know that it started with a child, bored in church! The Quaker Sunday School saw rebellion when a boy said he was bored with colouring in and an inspiring teacher saw hope and used her skills to enable creativity to flourish. And the tapestry was born. 77 panels, 15 years, 4,000 people, 15 countries, a living testimony to community spirit & boredom with the familiar routine that fails to create, challenge or grow. This superb artwork is well-worth a considered viewing. It's fantastic. And so are our Quaker friends.
Pictured, Chelmsford Cathedral, photos not allowed on the exhibition. Go and see. You'll be delighted!
