Memorial Day.

Those of you that have followed my blip for some time, will know that we attend this memorial service every year on this date.My great grandfather was killed in the Parc Slip Disaster, 124 years ago today. He was 21 when he died. The memorial is  constructed of 112 local stones, symbolically to represent those 112 men & boys who lost their lives in the explosion. The accident happened at about 8.20am,  so we had to be out early this morning. See my extra photos. The one of myself and Byron Butler, is for my brother, as he knew him when they were  growing up. J is the official /unofficial photographer, and one of the staff working at the reserve asked him to email the photos to her, as she wants to send them to the local newspaper for next weeks edition. When we got back home, we had a bacon& egg roll, and it tasted  so good. Later on, J dropped me in town, and I walked to church to have a cuppa and a chat to Kevin, and the other visitors. I stayed for a natter, and then back into town to catch the bus home. We are having  chilli& rice tonight with cheesy Doritos. Hope you all have a great weekend.
