Breathe In And Out...

Under way by sailpower and manpower

Away from the grime and noise of a week in London, this was my first chance for an open water swim for some time. I did manage a lovely swim at Tooting Bec Lido when we were in London. But there's no swimming quite as invigorating as a sea swim (in my humble opinion!). I swam the length of Newport beach in Pembrokeshire then popped over the dunes to finish my swim in the estuary of the River Nevern where the tide was high but the water was extremely calm compared with the nearby sea, and the estuary was full of tiny flatfish, probably juvenile flounders, which scooted away as I swam overhead. My wife took this photo of me as a little dinghy was passing by. I think this is the first of my blips to have me in it. But I'm in disguise as a swimmer in a neoprene swimming wetsuit and bright yellow cap. My triathlon coaches would, I hope, be pleased with my recovery stroke!
