Towards Westray (Day 473)
It was a little grey as I wandered up the hill with the dogs this morning, but it did look like it was going to brighten up.
Later in the morning, my beautiful wife and I headed to catch the ferry across to Rousay, one of the smaller islands. We often look across to Rousay from the beach at Aikerness and it was time to pay it a visit. I have been to Rousay to work (mainly trying to make some horrific cheap tiles look reasonable when they were stuck on several walls, and sort out someone else's disastrous tiling attempt) but haven't had the chance to explore the island since I was a kid.
Once off the ferry, we took a wander at Faraclett Head, where the path takes you around the north east corner of the island with views over to Westray.
Back at the car we followed the road around to Midhowe Tomb and Broch. The tomb is massive and has been enclosed within a building to protect it from the elements, and the broch is well worth a visit too.
It has been a fabulous day and we really should do more stuff like this.
Today's blip? My beautiful wife and our dogs, following the path at Faraclett Head, with Westray in the distance.
