ABSTRACT THURSDAY - FUN

As I crept around the garden in my pink robe, I spotted Count Duckula lurking about near the butternut squash plant, so I chased him off - I shouted and told him that Mr. HCB would not be amused if he knocked off any butternut squashes while they were growing and before any had been harvested!

He then ran towards the greenhouse, but I told him if he got in there, that Mr HCB would definitely be very angry, because that was his pride and joy - besides which, it was such a jungle at the moment, with tomato plants all over the place and cucumbers hanging down from the top, it would be unlikely he would be found for a very long time - and on a diet of just toms and cucs, he could become quite sick.

His next stop was the top of the blueberry cage - and I could see he was rather annoyed because he couldn’t find a way in - perhaps just as well, because they are the biggest they have ever been this year and it would break Mr. HCB’s heart if they were just eaten by a duck - even though he was a Count!  As he rang off, he did mention that his friend, Danger Mouse could get in quite easily and he might get in touch with him!

He eventually ended up sliding down the bamboo canes holding up the runner beans and before I could get to him had been up and down at least four times.  I managed to grab him on his fifth descent and told him that his time was up - and it was back into the toy box upstairs before he did any more damage.  He was a bit upset, but said that he realised that he was getting older and wasn’t quite as agile as he used to be, so he was happy to go back into retirement - for the time being, but he wasn't promising to stay there forever!

Even though you're growing up, 
     you should never stop 
          having fun.
