Sometimes it can be such hard work refereeing these two and their frequent quarrels. But then I look at them when they are like this together and can see how much they love each other.

We had a chilled out morning at the campsite, then went to the beach at holkham. Not been there before, but it was such a trek to the beach and then the tide was out so had to negotiate a vast mud flat. We got half way to the beach but it was roasting so we decided to just stay to one side and the kids played in the stream. Nick, Zoe, Frankie and Phoenix arrived after about an hour. Toby's behaviour seemed to deteriorate from this point on and both me and Mike had to repeatedly tell him off for chucking sand, being rough, snatching etc etc. Eventually he got the message but felt like we had to watch him like a hawk and it wasn't very relaxing. The dogs were also guarding their bit of beach and the children and just being a nuisance every time another dog went by.

Glad really when everyone had had enough and said they wanted ice cream. We stopped at a pub on the way home that has a great play area and the kids having so much fun that nick and Zoe decided to stay at the same campsite as us. They had originally planned to stay closer to the coast but we couldn't find any campsites that would accept three dogs with availability.

Lit the fire, had a BBQ and sat out star gazing till late.
