Windfall

Another loooong day.

We travelled back 'oop north' today..making it the third day in a row driving in the car with broken air conditioning - which happened to coincide with the three hottest days of the year.

I am absolutely drained.

We did stop off for (very late) lunch and a wander at Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire which added about 2 hours to the journey (not my choice I must admit, there is a reason that service areas are built right next to motorways).

In the gardens there is an orchard and the windfall apples have been collected up and put in stone troughs like this. Check out the scary apple face top left....

Apolgies to one and all for lack of / very sparse comments over the last few days...hopefully back to normal from tomorrow, although daughter and granddaughter are coming to visit, so it may not happen!
