Norfolk Day 3

Another superb day weather wise and just the day to take a ride on a Dean's Seal Trip boat over to Blakeney Point to see the Seals. And see the seals, we did, lots of them either basking on the beach or in the water fishing. I took lots of photos of course but liked this one of a young one. Our skipper told us it was only about two weeks old. Just love their sad eyes. We saw an albino seal too with a very pink coat and whose eyes are almost always closed.

After a coffee on the Quay we went to Sheringham Park (National Trust), picnicked in the sunshine and then walked the Red Route around this lovely Estate and its parkland, once home to the Upcher family and in 1812 Architect, Robert Repton, was commissioned to remodel the landscape. The 60 steps up to the gazebo were a real challenge for me but well worth the view from the top. A beautiful coastal vista unfolded with the 'Poppy ' North Norfolk Railway Line in the foreground with a steam train gently puffing her way along the line, and later we took a ride on the 'Poppy' Line from Weybourne to Holt and back, admiring the view from our corridor compartment and inhaling the wonderful atmosphere of travel gone by and the romance of steam.

Another lovely day in Norfolk. Looking forward to a Blipmeet tomorrow with Eyesee and Comma.
