Fencing

Realised strangely that, although I have had the misfortune twice in my life to experience a war zone and even had some military experience, war has never really impacted on me until now. I am sharing time with people who have been victims of the wars in the Middle East both service personnel but mainly civilians. It dawned on my slow brain that we are already in the midst of a huge war maybe even a Third World War. It is reaching out and touching us all. Maybe it's just where I live and the nature of my job but it's there now on a daily basis; casualties, victims and participants around me. I hope it is just that but I feel that we are sliding into something really nasty, sleepwalking into horror. Maybe I just had a bad day.
