Wellington Harbour early in the day
Wellington City is known as windy Wellington because it does get a lot of it but not while we were there as shown by this calm marina image with reflections of Te Papa our National Museum.
Wellington has a wonderful waterfront walkway which workers in the city use to walk or cycle to work on. Not crowded at 7.45am but a steady flow.Tourists also flock here later in the day and events are often held along it's several kilmometres long length.
We were staying close to Te Papa so I managed to get out early for a walk both mornings and catch some reminders of our brief visit.Extras show a sculpture, and how close the city offices are to the waterfront.
Today we visited the Great War Exhibition at the former National Museum building. Quite a different exhibition to Te Papa giving more information and reasons for WW1 as well as the results. Many dioramas and the Peter Jackson influence with several film sets to illustrate a particular aspect. So life like. Not as emotional today but very impressive.
So home again to find it was wet here.
We had little time for commenting or following your photos so hope to do that in the next few days. In the meantime thank you for hearts and stars you have bestowed on my images. I am a little weary so an early night is on the cards.
