Queen Elizabeth liner visits Guernsey
Today the weather has once more turned "ugly" but we are honoured to be visited for the day by the beautiful Cunard liner "Queen Elizabeth"
A very attractive modern liner I think, of 148,000 tons displacement, 345m long.
She can accommodate 2,600 passengers who are looked after by 1,200 crew.
She can travel at 30 knots and arrived today from her last port of call which was Dublin in the Irish Republic.
Sadly, we could not arrange sunshine for her but, we can show her some stormy and rain filled skies.
I am sure this will not deter the passengers who I hope will all come ashore to enjoy what hospitality Guernsey can offer.
