Timber!

We had 2 huge trees felled because their roots were getting too close to our house and they were blocking the light too. I didn't really like doing it but the tree fellers ( and there were 3!) said they were cash crop trees- planted to grow fast and then cut down for timber. And one of them had started to rot anyway.
It was amazing watching the men work- quite a skilled job- and I tried hard not to hum the Monty Python song! ( I'm a lumberjack and I'm alright..!)
We will replace them with cherry trees or suchlike.
What a difference it has made to our house and garden!
