Drunken peaches
I bought some white peaches rather rashly, hoping they would ripen perfectly at home and be their succulent best.
Of course, this was over optimistic and they softened but started to go mushy.
Rob suggested turning them into a dessert, and we remembered one time at a Spanish campsite restaurant when we all, including some quite young children, indulged in 'drunken peaches' - and it was not the peaches who ended up drunk!
I found a recipe, first skin your peaches! This was rather fun as their skins slipped off after a minute in boiling water. I then drowned them in Malibu and white wine, and will join them later!
