Larry/Lemmy the Limpet
This morning while S walked Ruby I was left to get the girls ready. Hair, teeth, face, bed and in C''s case lunch. It was fun and although I sounded a bit like an army major the girls assured me once we were in the car that they still loved me. S was very impressed and liked the fact that she didn't have to start her day with nagging.
After dropping C off at netball camp we went to St Heliers which is the only big town on Jersey. While my sister in law went to have a coffee, T and I had a walk around the shops. What stood out to me was the range of shops standing side by side. The more expensive shops mixed in with the lower end high street shops. I also liked their mini Times Square and the Jersey ice cream T and I had while sitting on a wall.
We then picked up C early from netball and went home for lunch. After a couple of hours watching the girls play with their dolls we headed to the beach. We went to Greve de Lecq this time which is a small cove beach. We made a sandcastle, played in the sea, T got this Limpit and C made a turtle. The nice part of today was that T got cold so she got out of the sea and that left C and I to float side by side on a bodyboard and have a really lovely chat. Then later on T wanted to go back in and C didn't so we had some time in the sea which involved somersaults, handstands, shark impressions and throwing T around as much as possible. My little nieces are growing up so quickly and have such distinctive personalities. After I bought everyone an ice cream it was time to go but there was just time to give Larry/Lemmy a quick sea burial where I said a few words. By the way I just can't remember if his name was Larry or Lemmy.
On the drive back to the house S took a detour to show me a glimpse of the much wilder northern coast of Jersey. It again reminded me of North Devon.
Evening spent at home.
Back blip.
