Dunbar Fisher Women's Statue
This new sandstone statue of two fishermen loading the creel of herring on to a fisher woman's back was created by Gardner Malloy of Cockenzie. It is a memorial by Dunbar Shore and Neighbourhood Group to the fisher women who used to carry and sell fish on the Herring Road from Dunbar to Lauder in the Borders. It is placed on a triangle of ground on the way down to the harbour and clearly exemplifies what hard work this must have been.
