What does it mean to live in balance? God is at the center of the balance. With students, there are often two extremes: all play and no work, or all work and no play. I like working, doing stuff, and exercising my mind and body, but I have those days where I just wanna be lazy. It happens

Discipline isn't always easy. In school, we think we learn a lot of stuff that we'll never use in the future, which is partly true. And there are plenty of subjects we don't like or that we don't naturally connect with. But education is also a constant process of learning how to learn. Different subjects stretch our minds to adapt to new things more efficiently in the future. Like the athletes in the Olympics (had to throw this reference in here), we train with an ultimate goal in mind. We train not for the prize that fades, but for a prize that's eternal.

It's easy to compare ourselves to others. That's one of the things I have the most problems with. But it's about making the most of what we have. Hypothetically, I want to put a spin on the parable of the talents. What if the guys with one and two talents doubled theirs, while the guy with the five talents did nothing with his? The guy with five still has the most at the end, but he didn't maximize his potential. We're inspired to work by God's love, our love for God, and our desire to make a positive impact wherever we are with whatever opportunities we have.

Speaking of Olympics, I saw men's floor exercise, women's vault, and the 100m dash today. I like the women's floor exercise more than the men's because it's a lot faster and more graceful, and because men's doesn't have music for whatever reason. Plus Aly Raisman's routine here was insane, and her song choice is also really cool. McKayla Maroney falling in the vault was rough, but she still got silver because that's how good she is. Bolt also won, and Americans got 3-5!

Peace.
