B Poet

Or Anne Bronte as she is more commonly known, the famous 19th century novelist and poet is buried at St Mary's church, Scarborough. She was buried here by Charlotte Bronte who decided to 'lay the flower to rest where it fell'.

Charlotte later prevented the publishing of 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall' as it was considered a shocking theme at the time (unmarried couple) and she wanted to protect Anne's reputation.

I will be taking a break from blip for a couple of months, so here is a verse from her poem 'Farewell' :

'Farewell to thee! but not farewell
To all my fondest thoughts of thee:
Within my heart they still shall dwell;
And they shall cheer and comfort me.'
