Sunday: Lynn Canyon

We took a trip to Lynn Canyon today, a park on Vancouver's North Shore.  Like the more famous Capilano, it has a suspension bridge but is much less busy.  If the crowds we saw today were 'less' then I don't think I'd like to see Capilano at this time of year.  The views from the bridge were stunning but there were several people who tutted and moaned when people stopped to have a look because it slowed things down a bit - how terrible to be slowed down in a park.  We heard some choice statements like 'you can't just stop and look, you know' - luckily not directed at us.

Here is the view from the bridge.  The people at the top were jumping off the cliff and also riding the water chute down - to see them banged about in it was quite painful.  The park is peppered with signs about the dangers of doing exactly what they were doing - every year there are several deaths through precisely this activity.  More fool them.  Sartre was right, sometimes hell really is other people.

So, in summary, Lynn Canyon - very beautiful but when it's quieter.

We drove back via Main Street which we really liked.  We stopped off for a Vietnamese phô broth and will definitely be back for a good explore.
