Looking for Adventure
We live along a road with about twenty landowners. Many of them have smaller plots of 20 to 40 acres and use their land seasonally, bringing in campers or tents. We are one of the few full time residents on this road.
My husband with his engineering, architectural and surveying background has created a large map of all the property owners including names and contact information. It's a Neighborhood Watch Map, if you will, for our section of High Prairie. Some people refer to him as "The Mayor of Stacker Butte".
Landowners living outside the area and wanting to sell, often call him and ask if he will show their property. Today he received such a call, and in the later afternoon we were walking and talking with a young couple interested in living off the grid and farming.
They broke away from their preparations to attend the annual Burning Man Festival in the Nevada Desert with 60,000+ other people to check out this property. They said had lived rurally in New York and practiced sustainable farming. It was an enjoyable walk and visit and we wished them well in their search for an adventure.

In yesterday's blip, a Western Tanager pondered his reflection in a calm and still pool. Today, an adult male Bluebird was seen chaperoning a teenage pool party.
Lovely sunset tonight capped off a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
