Open Studio
This week the talented inhabitants of a small village near Cockermouth are having open studios. The event is Art @ Blindcrake. There are several studios to visit in peoples homes as well as an established gallery. To add to that, tea and cakes are being served in the village hall.
The Man and I went along because I very much admire the photography of Keith Snell. He was sharing the wall space in his home with Carrie Calvert. Carrie and I got chatting easily over a cup of coffee. She had seen me on Facebook and greatly amused The Man by asking if she could be my friend. He's just NOT a Facebook person! I was thrilled to be asked.
Carrie specialises in wildlife photography and I was soon convinced of the necessity to spend 4 hours on my belly to get good frog shots. I could have talked for hours but they had other visitors to entertain!
Other homes were displaying paintings and I longed to look for my pads of cartridge paper. My favourite medium was pen and ink! But no. I need to concentrate on honing my skills with the camera now.
