Once home ....

The washing machine is on, kettle on and post opened. Is it only me that does those keys things after returning home from a holiday ? :)

Long day today - up at 6am (German time), left our daughter and son-in-law in their PJ's, waved a teary goodbye and started the return drive to the UK. Sharing the driving, 2 hours each, and allowing for a wee and stretching legs for Lili, we made good time to the tunnel. Checked Lili into passport control and joined all the others waiting to get through border control (French and English) - bit of a delay as they are very thorough. Managed to get on a earlier train ..... Off the train in the uk and the 2 hour trip home.

Tell me why when travelling in Europe on main roads/autobahn, it is so much more civilised - staying in the inside lane, only going into the second lane to over-take and then return to the inside ...... as opposed to getting in to the M25 where everyone wants to be in the fast lane!!!

Nice to be home, sad to leave our daughter and son-in-law but will see them at our sons wedding next month :)
