Fish and chips at the seaside
We left home about 10 am and drove with our grandsons down to Devon. Their Mum and Dad (our son and daughter-in-law) had booked a taxi to Birmingham Airport and flew off to Nice and the South of France for a well-deserved week on their own. They never get the chance to have time alone in Taiwan, and it's also a great treat for us to be able to take the boys away for a week, and indeed an honour to be trusted to look after them.
We arrived at our rented cottage on a farm mid-afternoon, after a long stop-start journey down the M5. The boys were great and we didn't have a single "Are we there yet?".
We were advised that the best and closest fish and chips by the sea would be at Seaton, so that's where we went in the early evening. Fish and chips eaten on the sea front, and then a run along the beach.
They slept well.
I'm having to back-blip loads of days as we had no wi-fi at the cottage. They had just had super-fast broadband installed, but alas it was not yet working.
