Loughrigg Tarn

Weather has fully turned. Torrential rain all day. The others were booked on the steam train and then the aquarium. Not something we could do with Kilda. We headed over to Loughrigg Tarn for a walk in very heavy rain. Found out yesterday that my coat isn’t fully waterproof and even putting another coat underneath couldn’t keep it out. Came back from the walk and spent the afternoon getting dinner ready as it was our turn to cook. Left to have a look around Ambleside but the traffic was bad so we didn’t make it. Stopped off at the local pet shop but not much in there and Kilda didn’t even get a treat. Went to Hawkshead brewery to get some local beer to pay some debts with before heading home. Lots of very large puddles in the small road back to the cottage as a result of the rain. Last night in a played Trivial Pursuits. Friend’s v partners. The partners won.
