Unrepresentative
It looks like a calm, peaceful kind of a day, does it not? The BBC forecast described today as, 'feeling warm with light winds.' 'Twas a lie! Although it was warm.
I don't count today as a day out, it was definitely an exercise outing but a great few hours nonetheless. Heading out with Rich, we took it in turns to take a stint at the front. It wasn't a desperate headwind but because we weren't going that far, we were trying to put in a bit of effort so it probably felt worse.
Rich was adding a few extra miles to round off his mileage for the week whereas I was getting back for Little Dog. So, at the Arncliffe turning, Rich turned left and I headed straight for Kettlewell. There had been no sign of sunshine and plenty of darkness on the way but just as I was taking the last incline to Kettlewell, I spotted this barn and double-backed for a photo. After a couple of photos, I checked the clouds to see if there was any chance of a tiny break. There was! I probably had to wait for 10 minutes but eventually, the cloud cleared to look like the magnificent British summer's day that it certainly was not. It didn't last long so I counted myself lucky and looped home from Kettlewell with a spring in my step.
I've added an extra dinner in this evening of leftover curry from a great night with L&J. We watched Eddie the Eagle and I'm now keen to find out how much of the storyline reflected the real Eddie.
Now time for Dinner 2.
