Justin Hawkins

We went to Weyfest today and oddly, given we live only 15 minutes away, it was the first time we've made it there during it's ten year history. It took my favourite band headlining to finally get me around to it and they did not disappoint: The Darkness put on a great set - but then that's what they do. Other highlights of the day were: The Wurzels (surprisingly brilliant!), John Otway (unsurprisingly, eccentrically brilliant), Bad Manners (enjoyed by all and a guest vocal slot by Buster Bloodvessel's dog), and Wishbone Ash (proper old school rock).

It was Buster Bloodvessel's dog's birthday and also my Basil's 14th birthday. When he was younger Basil would have quite enjoyed Weyfest but these days it would have been too much for him. We are therefore officially celebrating his birthday tomorrow.
