The Bridgewater Fair
Every year, our little town holds a Fair to help raise money for our Volunteer Fire Department -- and it's a very popular and well-attended event! It's a real old fashioned country fair, with lots of rides, midway games, piglet races, and 4-H events showing calves and sheep raised by young people, as well as chickens, rabbits, prize-winning produce, pies, flower arrangements, photography, painting, and needlework. Our son Tom and his wife Kristin and our 2 1/2 year old grandson Elliott came to spend the weekend with us, and we all enjoyed the fair today.
Here you can see Elliott sitting on a splendid red tractor, flying in an "airplane", riding on a carousel, driving a car, and visiting with a cow. We also watched piglet racing and were amused by a sign in the food tent, advising us not to wear chickens as hats!
