Pleasance Press Launch
Today was an early start for the Pleasance press launch in Pleasance Grand. A rather well attended affair (more so than other years I've been there). The showcase of acts on offer was great - a few pointers to some we should see, or have already seen (Amateur Transplants).
Lunch was had within the Meadows and with there finally being some sun in the sky made it all the more pleasant. I also attended my first ever "free fringe" show in Le Monde of all places!
The show "Gemma Arrowsmith - Defender of Earth" was well through out and well acted. Shame Gemma/ her tech couldn't remember the cues properly. However, it was a fun hour. There was however at the end of the show a bucket to give the act donations, rather than to a charity. It was one of those awkward type things as the bucket was being held by none other than the performer - it almost felt like giving money to a begger - too little and you feel cheap, too much and they'll take it to the closest bevvy shop to get hammered (not that it'll get you far on George Street!!)
