46100 "Royal Scot" leaving Stirling.
This afternoon we went on a wild train chase. Waited at Culross and the train was about 3/4 hour late and we were wet and our feet were sore from all the standing around. However, when we parked up on the south side of Stirling, she was only a few minutes behind schedule.
Built in 1927, she and her class mates were designed for the West Coast main line and were a big step up from their predecessors.
For the techies, she is a three cylinder 4-6-0 "Ten-wheeler".
Actually I much prefer the original Crimson lake colour scheme. But I am happy to settle for any decent steam engine.
