Hypericum 'Hidcote' + Friend

My mother longed to be able to grow Hypericums in her garden in West London where I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s - but all to no avail.

I have been luckier: one species - Hypericum androsaemum ('Tutsan') - self-seeded and grew like a weed in our former home in Aberdeenshire, and on moving in to our new house here in Sussex, I was quick to create a couple of beds in our new garden growing a selection of Hypericums in her memory!

This is a flower on one of these: Hypericum hidcoteense 'Hidcote', being visited this afternoon by a fly.
