1920's Sheffield Simplex

An antique car rally at Wentworth Castle Gardens today. (We only had a quick peep at the cars as we expected to see our neighbour there.)

Sheffield-Simplex was a British car and motorcycle manufacturer operating from 1907 to 1920 based in Sheffield, Yorkshire, and Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. Wikipedia

There's quite a bit of information on this car on the internet. I found this on the Sheffield Forum:
`Of the 1,800 or so Sheffield-Simplex cars made, only 3 are known to have survived. One is in a museum in Perth, Australia, one is in Kelham Island Museum, Sheffield and the other is privately owned by John Thring of Pontefract.' So I guess the one above belongs to John Thring.

Earlier we'd met up with my mum, brother and sister at Cannon Hall for lunch. They went on to visit my dad who's improved so much that he made it down to the tv room to watch the Olympics. We, on the other hand needed to satisfy Jimmy & Bobby's desire to visit the playground with the castle. Which we did!
