Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Ruffled

The day started with bright sunshine and a garden full of butterflies. By the afternoon we had thunder, lightning, hailstorms and fierce rain.

In between I went out bilberrying on the moor with 4yo and 7yo, reaping enough for a couple of crumbles. We disturbed a huge Oak Eggar moth, which buzzed around the bilberry and heather before finding a new hiding place. 7yo spotted a solitary Gatekeeper, our first here, a week after seeing many in Wales last weekend.

This feather was caught at the side of the moor path as I walked into the village in the morning. A ruffled feather amidst the feathery grasses.
